CK Hutchison vowed to strengthen its “market leading” position in mobile, by investing the proceeds from the HKD14.5 billion ($1.9 billion) sale of fixed business Hutchison Global Communications into its wireless arm.

Charter Communications turned down a tie-up with Sprint, following suggestions last week that the US operator had proposed a merger with the cable company, The Wall Street Journal reported.
